The final Truman Review Alumni Spotlight is on Bob McConnell ('77)! McConnell by day is an Iowa hog farmer, and by night he is the music director and CEO of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. After initial resistance to going to college, McConnell now uses his liberal arts education to succeed in the disparate fields of music and agriculture.

Sal Costa returns to offer a brand-new course, “The History of the Mafia,” to all non-degree seeking students interested in taking it this fall. The eight-week course will begin Aug. 18 and run through Oct. 6. Classes will take place from 6-8 p.m. every Tuesday, and will be offered both in-person and online.

Our next Truman Review Alumni Spotlight is for Megan Sharpe ('13)! Sharpe has lived "a few different lifetimes" since she left Truman. She's gone from Truman Bulldog, to professional volleyball player in two separate European countries, to medical school, to her current surgical residency at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine.
